Another interesting day, filming with Green Bay Media.  Today I got to lie on a massage table in the spa at Cardiff's very smart St David's Hotel in the Bay.  I was interviewed by the very charming and funny Iolo Williams, talking about the benefits of relaxing and de-stressing and the negative effects of stress.   I even managed to have a swim in the bay side pool after filming before pootling off home in the still blazing sunshine!   Really looking forward to seeing 'Cwm Sal Cwm Iach' aired in early Autumn. Diolch i Carys a Lynfa am ei cyfeillgarwch ac i Iolo am y laffs.  Oedd hi'n gret!

I spent all day at the Merched y Wawr tent in the Urdd Eisteddfod in Cardiff Bay today.  It was a really lovely day and I didn't stop from 10.30am to 3.15pm doing hand reflexology and Indian head massage taster sessions.  I managed to have a wonder around whilst grabbing some lunch to have a look at the other stalls; Swansea Uni, Open Uni, Cowbois, Cwltes, Mydiad ysgolion Meithrin, wrdd y'r Iaith and loads more!  Looking forward to having some time off in August to go to the National Eisteddfod in the Bala!

I had a phone call out of the blue on Monday asking if I would be available to do some TV!  I had done a slot on S4Cs Wedi 3 programme a few weeks ago.  This time I was asked to go to the houses of a few families to give them some therapy!  I was in Glyn Neath on Wednesday and Treorchi on Thursday!  I't surprising just how much hanging around and waiting there is for TV filming.  It's not half as glamerous as it looks!!  The series should be airing on S4C in September.  I can't tell you very much more, so you'll just have to wait until then!

I had my first experience of Kinesiology today.  I didn’t know there were different types; this was ‘health’ Kinesiology.  I did have to travel to Porthcawl, but it was nice to explore a new town, even if it was only to find the practice.  It was a combination of Reiki type energy therapy, magnet therapy, affirmations and a few other things too!  I came out with an overwhelming sense of ‘happiness’ and a ‘lightness of being’.  I think I may find out more about it now that I’ve had my first taste and see what other types of Kinesiology people are practicing.  You should try everything at least once!!

My friend, husband and goddaughter came over for the weekend to visit!  We joined them for dinner on Sunday evening in a fabulous cottage in the middle of a green, hilly nowhere in the sunshine.  We ate, drank, played, laughed and enjoyed the company of good friends.  It was lovely to see my goddaughter and to see her walking, running and giggling.  She was just a baby when I saw her last, at our wedding!  We took plenty of photos and I promised to embarrass her with them when she’s 16.  It’s good to have such friends!

Instead of having reflexology tonight, I decided to have a massage.  I’ve been seeing my Chiro at Uni Glam once every three weeks for months now, but due to exams he couldn’t fit me in.  You forget how good massage is for those tires and tense muscles; how much further your neck can actually move when it’s working properly!  If you’re a therapist don’t forget to take time out for yourself.  If your wellbeing is compromised, you probably aren’t giving your client 100% either…

Went to see Witches of Eastwick at the Wales Millennium Centre tonight with the delectable Marti Pellow.  It was really good and very funny.  We sat at the back, right at the top.  Boy, that circle is high!!  You feel like you’re on the edge of a skyscraper!  But you soon get used to it and quickly work out where the steps and banisters are!!!  It’s really good to do something different, something to broaden your horizons, something to stretch the little grey cells!  Gives you a chance to step out of the daily durge and look at life from a different, albeit high, angle!

I had a call from a client I hadn’t seen for 13 months! It was lovely to see her and to hear that after only one session, her backache hadn’t troubled her for the whole 13 months! It’s great to have that kind of feedback.  As a therapist, it makes you feel very humble to know that the therapy you provide day in day out has such a profound affect on someone’s health and their ability to function at home and at work.  I really must put ore effort into getting a PhD proposal around complementary therapy together!!

Toothache!!!  I spent most of last night trying to deal with the pain from a tooth that I really should have had fixed a year ago. I tried rubbing the tooth reflex on my big toe, I tried putting it in a box and watching it float away and I tried ringing NHS Direct to see if they could help!  I ended up in the out of hours dental service the next day who gave me antibiotics and sent me away.  So now I’ve got to go and see my dentist.  Never put off ‘til tomorrow what you can do today, eh?! Even when it involves dentistry!
4th/5th April 209
Our first wedding anniversary! We were given the gift of a night’s stay at the Nant Ddu Lodge, just north of Merthyr, towards the Brecon Beacons…and we were allowed to take the dog!  On the Saturday afternoon, we explored the surroundings of the Lodge with our dog and took in the clean air.  Not being ones for over exertion, we didn’t venture up the mountains… On the Sunday before we left we made use of the lovely swimming pool for an hour.  So nice to be able to benefit from some R&R so close to home.  Oh, and the Belgian waffles we had for breakfast were spectacular!
28th March 2009
I got in touch with a therapist I first met when we did our Reiki training together, Louise Woods, Free Flowing Energy, and after a few weeks of trying to match diaries, I went to the lovely Barefoot Studio in Cowbridge for my ‘me me me’ session of Crystal Therapy.  It was really relaxing and quite strange the way I went from wide awake to ‘waking’ without any concept of having fallen into a dose in between!  Definitely felt more chilled afterwards; it really is a lovely, energising therapy
